Matière Première was founded in 2019 by perfumer Aurélien Guichard in Grasse, France, based on a clear idea: to let an exceptional natural raw material take center stage in every fragrance. By working with highly concentrated ingredients, perfumes are created where the material's own beauty, structure, and character are fully expressed.
Aurélien Guichard comes from a family with seven generations of perfume tradition and combines a deep heritage with a modern, uncompromising view of perfume. With his own organic Rosa Centifolia cultivation in Grasse, he also has an unusually close relationship with the raw material itself. The result is fragrances that feel pure in concept, generous in expression, and deeply rooted in the origins of the art of perfumery.
