The inspiration for Opus 1144 is Gothicism (official birth in France about year 1144), but then is not that dusty, dark, mouldy medieval Gothicism we normally think of, but instead the different aspects and materials which together created this artistic expression: the feel and smell of stone, marble, wood, flowers, candles and paper.
Opus 1144 opens with lemon, mandarin, jasmine, vanilla and elemi - sparkling, floral and slightly sweet. The luxurious femininity is joined by more masculine notes of leather, sandalwood, ambre gris and styrax which slowly rises to the surface and give the fragrance its unmistakable unisex appeal.
